I thought the SRT-8s had 425hp?[>:]....I know they weigh a ton...but I think you have more of a fight ahead of you than most people are saying....an R/T you would definetly have no trouble with...

and if you cant do it with the stang (which you might be able to)...you'd definetly smack him around in that vette in your sig...hopefully its yours lol...

 

lol no, its my ex girlfriends vette. Its a 97 auto with intake exhaust and tune. It runs pretty good. But if all else fails ill bring out the 68 440 Charger R/T in the garage and whoop on him with the car that made his possible today...lol

I am telling you, they are not THAT big of a threat, especially since your laying down 300 to the wheels. Sure they are fast, but its a fuggin tank, I have beat em, its not like its a drivers race, all he does is smash the pedal

 

yeah Im hopin ill wax him cause he was at it again today. Our shop is buliding a 32 Ford roadster with a 99/01 cobra crate motor in it, and I was puttin a Pro 5.0 shifter in it, and the comments were flyin...makes me wanna beat him so much worse..[:@]

 

I really do think you guys are mistaking the srt for the r/t. I say race him any way's, but the srt has a 6.1 L hemi with 425hp. 300hp< 425hp no matter the weight. But good luck buddy.

thats what I've been sayin....SRT8 on a roll race would probably walk away from a 300rwhp GT because the brick is already in motion lol....

however I bet youd definetly win from a stoplight (or at the track for safetys sake haha) just because from my own personal experience, when i was boltons/heads/cams at just over 300rwhp, I put a hurtin on a LS2 GTO which has similar HP/Weight/Gearing characteristics to the SRT8s.....once those cars are moving, they're no joke...but from a stop they're tanks....

 

not always true. I'm sure the SRT8 is rated at flywheel HP just like most cars, the OP is rated at rwhp. I don't have much more than 300hp and I'd bet I'd kill one.

 

you should get him...4.10s, 5spd, built motor, cams..those things are real heavy. My co worker has the 300 srt8 and cant beat a stock LS1 T/A

 

My dads has an SRT-8 300c ran 12.7@109 stock and his best trap is 111....have raced him so many times from a roll and i never had a chance he walks me like 15-20 cars but then again im stock my best is a 14.2@96....i always get him from a dig though because they have there gay torque management i'll take him like 1-2 cars but once i shift into 3rd he walks right by me....im saying even with those mods your still gonna get spanked only way that i think that you an take him is if you get a 100 shot....but if you race him right away before the car brakes in it will be a close race
