Default Cams....

What all is involved in a cam install on a 2v GT?How much the total cost for parts and about how much rwhp will it add with bolt-ons and gears?Any thing else that would be better than cams for the price?

there is a lot thats better than cams for the price. Cams, springs, gaskets, cam gearswill run close to $1000 before labor and tune.

you will save money if you do it yourself..you can get a set of VT stage 1's for I believe $550 and they claim to add 20-25hp and can be used without a spring upgrade..Install is easy you just have to align the timing correctly or you will have bent valves and chipped pistons..you really dont need gaskets, gears, or springs when doing a cam swap unless you take the head off. You can tell if you need gears by looking at yours and if they are bolted on then you dont need them but if pressed on you will. Anytime you take off your heads you will need a new head changing kit due to the TTY bolts. Basically it all depends on the power you want and how much you want to spend..You will need a tune to get the most out of cams
