hey getting rid of my mustang. gas is too high. what is the ZX3 package on a focus. 03 model.

 

Its not really a package, just the model. Its a 2 door hatchback. Their not bad cars, especially if it has the 2.3 Duratec in it.

 

atleast get the svt focus

 

F*ck the SVT. Ford messed up badly with the SVT, 170hp @ 7000rpms and only 145lbs/tq. That is just crazy #'s. Like I already said, I'd rather have the 2.3 Duratec motor instead. Which they came in very few 03 and 04 Focus' but came in the 05-07 ZX4 ST models and they had 151hp @ 5750rpms and 154lbs/tq. It also has a much better aftermarket and can easily get 200whp N/A and tons more with a turbo. I guess I like Focus', but only certain models and engines.

 

I'm pretty sure the duratec engines only started in 05+ focuses (foci?...whats the plural haha)
like stated above, the most powerful engine so far was in the SVT focus which also has a 6speed manual, which adds to the fun factor....

anyways, they most fun mods you can do to those cars are suspension....nothing you do short of a supercharger/turbocharger really nets any power in those engines....but believe me when i say they're probably the best all around corner carving car that Ford has put out in a LONG time....you can literally throw these things around corners

my friend has an SVT focus with the typical catback/header/intake mods, but just about everything in the steeda cataloge for suspension components....and that car is a blast.....

 

there good cars but depends what you want. if your trying to make a 4 cycl fast not sure this would be the car.i have never seen a focus tuned up i think there just like a neon.

I personally own an 03 SVT and will tell you this much: if you're looking something that is decently fast or that can easily be made fast then this isn't the car for you. On the focus forum i'm part of, the fastest svt is right at 13.1 w/ FI. Don't get me wrong though, they are very fun cars and great as DDs. The car's handeling and brakes are amazing and I love the 6 speed tranny. Just an advice if you do decide to get one, get a 2002.5+ as the ones before had quite a few recalls and problems.

 

while were on the subject....my sister has a 2002 ZX5 i beleive it has a zetec in it and im changing the oil tomorrow, is it a DOHC or SOHC i was lookin on advance auto.com and they have 2 filters for it single or dual OHC, thanx to anyone who knows

 

I believe all zetecs are DOHC
