I've seen good working head units go for as cheap as $400 on Ebay or Corral.net(they have a big classifieds section).

Paid $800 used for my complete kit with every accessory under the sun almost. The used S/C route is about $2000 and a decent bit harder to install than the nitrous. Perhaps this summer when I get out of class I might get a a decent job and make the jump over to the S/C, as for now I'll enjoy what I have

cool man hope you can get your s/c b/c i hope i do. thanks for answering all my questions i asked you it really helped me out alot. b/c i was thinking about doing away with the 2v all together but you may have changed my minde a little bit. im going to have to keep thinking about of course. i also have to remember my motor has been very very good to me so far even with all the bolt ons i have done to it. its very strong and i cant wait to get to the track again this summer and see what it can do. hopefully i can run better then a 9.4 in a 1/8 and on some DR next time. i spin like a bitch on the track and it sucks

if you look at the hp and tq that im already pushing with the mods i have seems that my stang is taking well to mods and if i put on a set of heas and cams i wounder if i would be pushing 300 rwhp.
Ported heads and cams will get you your 300 rwhp(a bit more actually) but it's not worth it. You're looking at well over $2000 for a 50 rwhp mod

If your on a budget a nice shot of nitrous will be way cheaper and get you much more than 300 rwhp.
i guess that depends on your definition of "worth it". in my opinion, it's not worth it to only have an increase in power at full throttle for a street car. i'd considered nitrous at one point, but i rarely take my car to the track so it would be pointless to have nitrous for daily driving. who drives around town going full throttle all the time? i'd rather have the power/torque increases throughout the powerband and at part throttle as well as full throttle. i think the s/c would be the better route for the OP, unless he's just looking for lower E/Ts on a budget.
