i went to local exhaust shop an ask about installing a catted h-pipe on my 02 gt he told me it was a waste of money that the stock h-pipe was a high-flow catted mid-pipe and i wouldnt gain anything popwer or sound wise i think the guy is full of it give me some input on your experience with catted and off road h-pipe.

don't listen to that exhaust shop. Factory you have either 4 or 6 cats(depends if its 99+ or not) A high flow has at the most 2

you will absolutely gain in RWHP going to 2 cats from 4 or in some cases 6. You will notice a big difference in sound depending on the brand.

cats are your catalytic converter, it is for emissions and for tree hugging hippies haha. its just so you don't pollute the air, huge restriction basically, take em out and let her breathe

well all cars come with them so if your midpipe is stock then it will have them. my 04 had 4 cats, 2 per side. if you crawl under your car their the big ugly block looking things towards the front of the car
