rubber intake tube

i hate it and dont want to spend the extra money on cold air intake so is there any way i can just have a pipe there that leads to my k&N filter

JLT uses plumbing PVC and paints it, why can't you??

and if its so simple as pvc pipes why does it come with the rubber tube

the stock rubber intake tube has ribs on it, which is said to cause turbulance...which is said to have a negative effect on performance. of course a strait/smooth intake/pipe would get rid of the turbulance, for better/smoother air flow. its not going to feel like you slapped a supercharger on there, if you chage it....but every little bit helps. plus it looks a ton better. the JLT intake pipe is 4 inches in diameter, to give you an idea of what to purchase. it does come with these little reducer pieces to make it fit to the throttle body tho. that part might be kinda hard.

as long as you can get everything to fit together ok, and without leaks, you should be good to go.

he has all the angle degree and stuff.

the ribs are on the OUTSIDE and do not effect performance at all.
