shifting into reverse...
i was just reading the thread titled tranny situtation and read that he had his transmison rebuilt or whatever and sometimes he has had to get towed out of reverse
my engine has been rebuilt and about 70 percent of the time i have to try like 5 times to get in reverse when backing up from my driveway or a parking lot....and then when i do a couple times it just go out of reverse and into netrual like the thread was saying and that horrible sound happens
my question is will brand new gears (410s) and a steeda tri-ax short throw help me from having a huge transmission problem down the road???
i current have the stock gears and shifter with 62000 miles and ive been having a problem with reverse for about 3 months and about 2000 miles

well i didnt know that it was a bent fork in the transmission...just knew that it doesnt like going in reverse
and i just got a new clucth so i fiugred new gears and a short thrower mite fix it or at least make it so even if im having a hard time going in reverse i dont need to replace my transmission becuase i know that will cost an arm and a leg

it still doesnt it sometimes when i do that...and ive tried 4th and 5th first too
i typically have to put the clucth in try it, let off the clucth, push it down try it again...ect...like 5 times to get it in
all im wondering is am i damaging my transmission and is there anyhting i can do to fix it before a bigger problem arises

I have the same problem, it has been helped slightly with my new shifter, but ultimately what I do is start to let the clutch out slightly and it will usually go in better. If you don't have problems with the other gears it is most likely not a big deal. Just don't force it and I'm sure you won't do any damage/further damage.
so its a bent fork in my transmission
well i just got a zoom racing clucth like 2 weeks ago and within the next month will most likely have new gears and a steeda tri ax shifter
