so i jsut bought my 99 auto gt a few months ago, red btw. my friend already has a red 04 v6, and my other friend is buying a friggin 98 RED cobra. we all live in the same damn neighbor hood. but anyways, what would it take for my 99 auto gt to beat his 98 cobra, and hes not amazing at stick either

damni heard it was a pretty close race between the two. especially since my friend cant race stick. i thot 98s werent that fast do they put like 260 to the wheels? that is a significant difference to me putting down like 220

Well you can define fast but compared to a 1 year new gt model yes a 4v is going to beat up on a 2v unless the guy only has 1 leg.

Race him right now, those old 4V's perform nothing like the 4V's we see in the 99 and up cobras and the mach 1's. Stock for stock they dont run much faster then our 2V GT's, but they do take to modification much better. Mod for mod he's going to make more power then you, if he does full bolt ons he'll probably run 12's. You do full bolt ons and youll probably run mid 13's. If he keeps it stock just get some sticky tires, gears, and a stall. That should give you the advantage you need to win. But as soon as he starts modding youre in trouble.

Maybe its the driver mod but i see 96-98 Cobras run mid to low 14s all day long.

I would say its a close race.

we would both have stock cars. he doesnt know anything about mustangs. he cant tell the difference between a v6 and a cobra. litterally, he almost got one off craigs list thinkin it was a cobra. im guna mod my car soon but so fari can only install like a CAI. if he doenst know how to race stick could i win?

Yes you can definetly win if he cant drive, Ive seen much crazier things happen on the street then a PIGT beating a 96-98cobra via driver error. If he cant drive you should take him easily, he'll probably spin or bog off the line and miss half his shifts
