I've always wondered what the whining noise is when my mustang is in first gear. It annoys me to the point that when I'm driving through a parking lot or somethingI manually shift to second just so I don't have to hear it. Does anyone know what I need to do to get rid of that whine?

 

Ur not riding the clutch while ur in 1st gear are you? If u hear the whining noise if ur foot is barely tapping the clutch, the clutch may be burnt out. If not, i had a whining noise as a result of my a/c compressor being blown. It may be neither, but im jus offering help to wat's happend 2 me before!?! Lemme know < "jEtt"

 

No, it's an automatic....
