Gears?
ok so i am looking into buying a set of gears and i read up using the search function on here and im not sure what im reading....i have a friend that has 3.73's and when me and him raced by the time i was halfway thru 4th he was shifting into 5th...i really dont want to have to shift into 5th seeing how i get no power...so i was looking at a set of 3.55's like an 03/04 cobra has or a mach has....is this a good idea or not?

i'm confused too man. it seems like there's so many different combinations u can use. there's 3.55, 3.73, 3.83, 3.90, 4.10, 4.30, 4.55... i don't have a clue what the difference between all of em is

Stock I think you have 3.23's. Everyone usually goes with 3.73 or 4.10 gears and there's constant arguments about what is better for daily driving. I heard that 3.55 gears aren't worth the trouble because your ratio isn't being improved too much. I can't decide between 3.73 or 4.10 gears for myselfbut I would at least go with 3.73's.

general rule of thumb that is followed is 3.73 for a manual and 4.10 for an auto... seeing as you said that you have to shift go with the 3.73... if you are racing on a track, unless you have ridiculous power, you won't be shifting to 5th in the 1/4

Why don't you drive your friend's car and see how you like 373's? from what I understand, 4.10's will require some tire and suspension upgrades if you want to have any kind of traction.
