Stock I think you have 3.23's. Everyone usually goes with 3.73 or 4.10 gears and there's constant arguments about what is better for daily driving. I heard that 3.55 gears aren't worth the trouble because your ratio isn't being improved too much. I can't decide between 3.73 or 4.10 gears for myselfbut I would at least go with 3.73's.

Dont do less than 3.73s. So make your decision between 3.73s and 4.10s.

Highway=3.73s
City and less highway=4.10s

If you want to have fun 4.10-4.56 That might be a little much for a 2v but it would be really fast if you could keep the tires down.

general rule of thumb that is followed is 3.73 for a manual and 4.10 for an auto... seeing as you said that you have to shift go with the 3.73... if you are racing on a track, unless you have ridiculous power, you won't be shifting to 5th in the 1/4

Why don't you drive your friend's car and see how you like 373's? from what I understand, 4.10's will require some tire and suspension upgrades if you want to have any kind of traction.

I have 4.10s and i had to do full suspension and i got 315/17/40 on 10.5 inch rims. Now i can hook up. Before with just stock suspension and 275's, i would have a hell of a time on the street/track. I am glad i got the 4.10s, i had 3.73 and they didn't give me what i wanted, but 4.10s did. I do shift into 5th in the quarter mile but right at the end though about 100ft before the line. 5th gear has a lot more power cuz of the 4.10s. But with just a semi bolt on GT you wouldn't shift into 5th in the quarter mile you would be real close to it but you wouldnt have to.

to the op--- your 5th gear will have more power with steeper gears. I went 4:10s also, still 23mpg hwy. No regrets
