Default Forged Rotating Assembly

I have my engine out and am going to put forged internals in it. So i am looking at the forged rotating assembly kits and the cheapest one i have seen is this one.. only about 200 bucks cheaper then MMR and VT and Sean Hylan.

http://www.shop.hms-store.com/produc...&productId=485

Is this a good set up? Where should i be looking for rotating kits?

***i am building for 450 - 500 hp. Kenne bell super charged.

Haney is a pretty decent brand, but the stock block is good for 450ish with a good tune. Why are you gonna spend all that extra money and effort if you only want another 50rwhp?

Yeah i posted this after "i think i decided" that im not gonna forge the bottom end. It just doesnt sound safe to be at 450 when thats where the block is good to. I honestly thought that people would think its a good idea to forge the bottom end when looking for those numbers.

you wouldnt have to buy the forged crank just forgedconnecting rods and pistons. that would save you some cash since the gt's crank can handle 500 hp. i was looking to buy a forged rotating assembly so i called Sean Hylan andd.s.s. racing they both told me that all i needed was the forged rods and pistons to have a reliable engine that can handle 8-10 lbs of boost.the forged rods and pistons, rings and bearingswere 1200.00 the assembley was 2200.00.

if your gonna beat the hell out of your car than its worth it to forge the bottom end. people dont factor in the fact that the bottom end was made to handle 450 horsepower and on top of that beat the hell out of the vehicle every time you get in it. that also takes a toll on the internals.

It is a good idea especially if plan on going f/i and having durability out of it.

But the stock crank is good for 600 hp. So 450-500 is a good amount especially if you have stock heads, cams, tranny, and rear end.

I just bought a built block for 1000 hp and also a turbo and i'm only going to be running 450 whp because i have stock heads and tranny.
