you might just need a tune. up. im gettin mine here shortly and i think that will fix my "sluggish" problem too

 

go do a seafoam cleaning of the motor and fuel system and see if that helps. its like 6 bucks for a bottle and it could work wonders. you can try that but i definatly think its your coil on plugs. and if you get new ones, either go get stockers from ford or get some msd coils. but the coils are the culprit if you ask me. i have had problems with mine in my old motor and it felt sluggish and hesitated. but good luck on the search for the problem.
