Default Downshift Grind

Ok so all the sudden my car wont let me downshift into second without it grinding like crazzzzzyyyyy... if i want to down shift into second it will go in but with a rele bad grind and clunk. If im driving normal i can shift 1, 2, 3, 4, fine. Its only downshifting. What do u guys think.

Fluid Problem?
Rebuild?

- also i had just raised the idle on my car with the diablo from 700 to 900.. could that be why?

Dont downshift?

When i put my **** into reverse sometimes, and it makes a clunking noise, is that grinding gears or just cause my **** was spinning forward and i didnt stop the hole way then put it in reverse??

I don't think raising the idle would matter no matter what you've got the idle set at brudda. If the gears are grinding that harshly on the downshifts, I would definitely take a look at two things, The synchros and the shift fork. Those are the only two things I could think of that would still let you shift, but grind on the down-shift.. I wouldn't let it go if it's the synchro's either, cause you could end up either breaking the shift fork trying to get it into gear, either/or shearing teeth off the gears. I'm FAIRLY sure I had the same tranny you do when I was stock (The 3650 since you're an 03GT right?), and when mine did that it started with 2nd gear, then 2nd gear went out and 3rd gear started grinding, etc etc.. You can get synchro re-build kits from Maximum Motorsport and JEGS both for pretty decent prices if that's what's wrong with it. I'd have somebody that knows their way around a tranny take a look at it first just to be sure though broham..

try rev matching the engine to what the RPMs will be at when you down shift. that is what i do and it is so much easier and down shifting and the tranny

either way rev matching or not, it doesnt sounds good. get it looked out asap before you dont have a tranny at all.

unfortunately... no. I guess a TSB is not the same as a recall and the dealer doesnt HAVE to replace the part, and if they do they dont HAVE to do it free of charge. My dealer, is one of the ones that wont. So I will have to tolerate it until its finished then get it rebuilt. [&:]
