Default STRUT PROBLEM!!!

well, here is another dilema im facing. back in november of last year i ordered my strange 10 way adj. shocks and struts for my 02 and the guy told me id need the 87-93 shocks/struts since i was lowering my car so i listened to him and now they are 2 inches to short. so now im stuck with $400 worth of shocks/struts and now have to buy some to fit my car. I LOVE VENDORS FROM CORRAL!!!!

2" too short compared to what? The earlier shocks are shorter then the OEM new-edge shocks, however that makes them arguably a better unit for a lowered car...

from what ive heard (if im wrong, someone please tell me b/c i place my shocks/strut order tomorrow), even tho the fox body struts are shorter. they still mount up the same and will fit just fine. its supposed to help when lowering your car, like the guy said.

have you tried to install them yet?? are you SURE they dont fit....or did you just hold them up against your old shocks/struts and saw that they are shorter? they are supposed to be shorter...thats the point of going with the fox shocks/struts

im glad you posted this, b/c i was told to also order fox body shocks/struts since im adding springs. but if they dont fit, then ofcourse im going to order them for the right year.

They have to "fit", just jack the control arm up until they do. The idea is that on a lowered car the longer OEM shock are likely to "bottom-out" (actually hit the bump-stops)because they will no longer be operating in the center of their range (just sitting there they will be more compressed by the amount you lower the car). The shorter shocks will be centered in their operating range on the lowered car.

I have C-springs but I have new edge Strange shocks on the way for the rear. The car is only maybe 3/4"-1" lower then stock in the back, so should I be good?

Cliffyk... Should I use the fox struts on a 1 1/2" drop with my '99?
Or should those shocks be used form 2" or more drop?
I like that the fox body struts are cheaper then the newer ones also.

i got to the point where i was goin to bolt the strut to the steering knuckle and it was about 2inches off from lining up. I jacked the control up as far as it would go to the point it was just picking the car up and it still didnt line up. whats goin on?
