Hey guys, I just have a relatively simple question. First, I’ve been through Ls1 and other official mustang forums to ask this. What car would you recommend me purchasing? A ’03 Mach 1, or a Camaro SS LS1? I don’t know the year of the SS, but I’m pretty sure it’s a 00 01 or 02. both are bone stock. I’ve been monitoring this forum for about a week and noticed mustang and Camaro owners got along well together here. On the other sites they just recommended Camaro or Mustang depending on the forum. I’m looking for performance here. Basically any and all information about the two vehicles would be more than welcome, along with opinions. Thanks Guys

if it was me i would get the mach1 got the 4v engine and looks are 1000000x better. Buttttt that ls1 is tempting, i can def see why your having trouble making up your mind.

02+ vette with LS1 if your after performance... all their prices are fairly close anyway...
otherwise if you just want power cheap and quickly (400 rwhp or so) LS1 > mach however, the mach will get you a solid mid-300 rwhp and look much nicer.

ya, i've been told by other that the mustang would most likely have the camaro off the line till around 3rd gear then it would still be close.

what are the price differences? or does that not matter

do you of any good performance option for the mach 1, like turbo's, intercooler chiller systems, or other things that would boost performance?

i can get the LS1 for 4500 and the mach for 6500, mach only has 15k miles on it and the SS has 23k

hahaha if you put a blower, TT on that it would transform into an even more BA car... you could make that a nasty car. even if you went bolt ons you would see good gains in hp because of the 4v... full intake, ful exhaust would help it breath

for the money, and performance, get an ls1. obviously we're all partial to the looks of the mach 1, but u wont find one for less than 16000 if ur lucky. i'm pretty sure u can get an ls1 for maybe 13 in decent condition, now u have 3000 to play with to open up that 5.7, and man do they respond to mods. if money is no issue, get a mach. I wasnt to big on moddding crazy or going to the track everyday, so i got the one that i thought looked better overall. Both cars you'll kick *** in. Hope that helps

info: mach = 3.55 gears, 5 speed, underrated 305 crank, 320 torque, can get to 310 to the rear wit basic boltons- tune ect. quarter mile car, not a highway tripple digit top speed car, common problems are transmission syncros or watever,
ls1= 3.27 gears i believe, 320 crank, gets to 340 or 350 to the rear with bolt ons i think, halls *** top end, cam it and u got an all motor monster.
