Default About to Order Cams

I am about to order some CMS Stage 1 Cams and because I have a '99 I know I need the cam gear. Is there any thing else I am missing and need to buy. I know springs wouldnt hurt and a tune would be a good thing.

Thats all you need to do the install. If you have the money you can upgrade your oil pump and trigger wheel while your in there. The oil pump will be kinda hard but if you have skinny arms you will be ok.

I suggest getting the MMR aluminum cam spacers while your at it.

Do the stock cam spacers not deal with the higher revs as well?

There fine but the aluminum ones are lighter for less rotational mass and increase in hp. Not much but every little bit helps. And for the price why not.

This little tool will save you alot of time. with it you won't have to take the timing cover off your car. just take the valve covers off. and slide it between the timing chain. it wedges the chain so it doesn't move. mark your chain to the cam gear. then simply install the new cam and realighn the chain to the marks you made on the cam gear. once thats all in and bolted down remove the tool and reinstall the valve cover. i used this when i installed my cams and had it done in about an hour. the tool wedges the chain against the chain guides holding itstill.
