Default Timing Issue

First off let me state that i'm not a very knowledgable mechanic, recently i changed the head gaskets on my 96' GT, in the process of reassembly one of the timing chains sliped on the lower gear. I thiought i got in back in the proper place and finished assembling. after getting it back together it wont fire when im trying to start it. is there any way of confirming my timing chain is correct without taking it back down? if not , how do i ensure it is correct once i get the gears and chain exposed?

Thanks, Dave
