clutch install...bad idea?
So my clutch finally went the other day, so ive been trying to find someone to do my clutch. The only thing is that I already have longtubes so no one wants to touch my car.My only option was to rip my car apart and take off my exhaust. So tonight I got everything off, waiting till tomorow after work to put it back together. But, then I thought about just putting inthe clutch myself. Is it a good idea? I have a pretty good knowledge of cars, but I have never done a clutch before. O ya I also have an aluminum flywheel, whats the difficulty level of the install, and is there a write-up for it.
Thanks
Thanks
I forget who it was, but he tried a clutch install and couldn't even get the transmission off. Apparently those top bolts are a pain to get too. If you have the proper tools, time, and knowledge I say go for it.
If you have long tubes and you already have them off then heck yea do the clutch. Just pull the driveshaft, pull the starter, unhook the clutch cable and all tranny connectors, pull the tranny, unbolt the clutch, unbolt the flywheel, remove pilot bearing by packingwith grease, then install.
