Default changing differential cover

ok, so i got a kenne bell differential cover and i'm gunna put it on soon, but i got a few questions. first off, my owners manual says it takes 4 pints of 75w-140 and a bottle of friction modifier, but i see some of using 85w90 or some crap, whats the deal? second, i payed $10 for it, but it doesnt have any bolts with it and i talked to kenne bell and they dont have the hardware because apparently its been a while since they sold it... so, will any of the hardware from the other manufacture's kits work??

Is it a girdle or just the cover?

Hmm well, I dont know if they other kits would work or not then, you might have to call around and ask. I've never seen a Kenne Bell girdle before.

I can help ya with the rear end fluid though, I run 85w90 Mobil 1 and a bottle of the friction modifier.

You're going to need different hardware, since the OEM bolts more than likely won't fit in those holes, if it's anything like the TA Girdle.. As long as you use some in the flavor of Grade 8 or Grade 10, and has a small enough head that will fit into those hole to be fairly flush, you should be good..

In fact, you could probably purchase TA Girdle Hardware, and be fine.. It may be a little pricey, but well worth it.. However, looking at the picture, it shows slots for the bearing cap studs. Those would ALSO need to be purchased, otherwise you'll have a serious loss of fluid, and you wouldn't get all of the benefits of a true differential girdle..

It's 2.0L, 4.25 pints; you couldn't fit a gallon of oil into the rear-end...
