I installed a new pilot bearing when I put in my centerforce. Call me crazy but we had to get a chizzle (sp?) and break it up to get it out.

This is gonna sound crazy but bear with me. Fill the hole with bread. Yes bread. White bread works best. Stuff it til its completely packed. Then get a punch about the size of the hole and bang it in there with a hammer. The pilot bearing will come out.

Mine was very easy to get out. I just used a slide hammer and it popped.

The removal tool didn 't work for me either. I used a Dremel and a pair of needle nose pliers to remove my pilot bearing. My Dremel kit came with a small cut - off wheel. I used it to carefully slice and dice the bearing. After butchering the bearing, I easily twisted it out with the needle nose pliers. I thoughtI had discovered something new, but this methodseems to be pretty common.

I'm serious guys. The easiest way is to push it out from the back by using hydrolics(sort of). Pack the hole with bearing grease and get a punch that's almost exactly the size of the hole. you hammer in the punch and the bearing comes out. As the bearing inches out, you may have to use more and more grease.

EDIT! I didnt mean to say its the easiest way. The removal tool would be the mothod of choice, but if that doesnt work give this a shot
