I want to get 3.73 gears. How hard is to install them? I would like to do it myself.Is it something i can do myself or do i have to take it to a shop? and if i do have to take it to a shop anyone know a good shop on Long Island near 11740?

I don't know of any shops up that way, but I know from looking around on here that the rear end is the one area that most people won't touch. You'll find people that have done heads, cams, tuning, but still take it to a shop for gears.

I do all my own engine work did my cams etc but will not mess with gears. take it to someone who has the tools and knowledge. its to expensive to screw it up and have to pay someone to fix it.

sorry but this is not a good rule of thumb lol... if you've never done it before don't do it? how will you EVER work on your own car?

gears however are pretty well not difficult but its best to have someone explain it too you, and you need a specialty tool, to figure out the degrees, you probably would be better off going to a shop but it's a VERY good skill to have i guarntee if you learn you will be very popular amongst your mustang friends and if you're a real gearhead and do most of your own work you should be able to learn, im not saying its gonna be easy tho lol.
