like 2000AZ5.0GT said, building a super fast mustang takes a good amount of time. which is why i say go get a hellion twin turbo kit and a fuel system good for like 1000+hp. one, youre gonna put it on there and youre gonna have well over 400rwhp and it will be an insanly fun car to drive at that level. then when you get bored, you buy a built long block with stage 3 heads and cams and put that in and then you can turn up the boost like crazy and start making some insane power. then you are going to need to buy new drivetrain to handle that kinda power. so you buya viper spec t56 or a built tranny like the MMR 900 and install that. then when you get bored, add some nitrous or something to make it entertaining once again. and you can then always upgrade your turbos and housings to make it a completely different car. so building a turbo/blower car isnt just an over-night deal. its an on-going process to get more power and have more fun. and you also want to throw some suspension on there too and that can change multiple times during the whole build so i would suggest that you go ahead and do a turbo car or start out building one by getting your motor good for boost and run nitrous for the time being or something of that affect. that way when you get bored of that go right for the turbo/blower.

I say get a new built shortblock and heads and cams. But keep the compression low so when you do blower/turbo you'll be all set.

Take this from someone who owned a 2000 GT for about 5 years- and was right where you were at at one time. I just wanted this little mod, and that little mod...and after a while it led to a procharger which led to an extremely streetable 405rwhp / 430rwtq that was sustained until I sold the car (put about 20K on that setup). I WISH i would have just saved up the money to begin with and skipped all the small stuff that can eventually be solved with a simple pulley swap. You save SO much money and time in the long run by just saving for the big things

But if for whatever reason you still dont want to consider FI, then do the longtubes, a dyno tune, and 4.10s at the very least.
