Default how much sound difference between...

The other day i had a mustang pull up becide me and i loved the sound he said that he had off road h pipe with no cats from mac and had everything else stock. I want the sound but due to having to get inspected i wanted to get a mac h pipe with cats but didnt no the sound difference i can live with some but i dont want to pay big and not be happy. I have a stock 01

is there a question in there? are you asking if you can pass w/o cats, or will the sound be different..?

I know i have BBk header w/ Flowmaster CAT back and it passes and sounds very aggressive!

i dont think that there is such a thing for our cars as a flowmaster header-back exhaust. but the cats will definatly quiet the sound down a lot. it will be louder than it is right now, buti think you would be disappointed with the sound with cats. but you can always just take the stock heat sheilds off of you stock h pipe and weld them on the o/rto make it pass visual. i dont know what state you live in but pa its plug in to dianostic port and visual test.

i did i tried on youtube and didnt get what i was looking for and as far as NC state test the look at the exhaust and plug it in and put a sniffer to it. I could always just change it once a year.

yo teej do they actually pass the visual here in PA with just welded heat shields on an o/r h pipe?
