mufflers mufflers mufflers
so i have had my flowmaster original 40s in for a little while and i loved them. they are deeper and louder. but now i need more. american muscle sells the SLP 1 and 2 mufflers. i need something louder than my flows but i still need good sound. i cant afford spending 400 bucks and not like the sound. what would you reccomend? muffler delete maybe? just new mufflers? i want it to be wayyyyyyy louder. any opinions on just SLP mufflers would be great
thanks

I had LM1's and a weld in Roush X pipe with stock cats. Nice grumble at idle, FTW at WOT. I think you can still find the roush x pipe for sale. Stock H and LM1's just didnt sound right.

yeah, i don't like the sound of LM1s at all they crackle and pop.. reminds me of rice krispies...im running flowmaster40series but i have an offroad x pipe, i love the way my car sounds, the only way i would change it is to add the whine of a Kenne Bell
But im not sure what LM1s or 2s will sound like with your cats still intact, with no cats and the LM1s on my buddys 04 cobra i litteraly could not hear myself speak and i was in a car probably 50 yards behind him he was at 3-3500 rpms... riduclous.

I have the muffler delete and everything else (H pipe, cats, tail pipes) is stock. I REALLY like it. I also had FM 40 weld-ins and they were just too quiet for me. I now have a loud, deep rumble under throttle, not too much popping when letting off and not too loud idle. It just has that deep, loud muscle car sound. I've had this setup for a few months and I like it more every day. It is subjective and some folks are going to dump on it simply because its not a $500 mod. Just try it, its a cheap mod at a good muffler shop, and if you don't like it, just weld in something else later. Oh, and make sure they use stainless or at least aluminized pipe to replace the mufflers.

I had LM2's with my catted H but they were too quiet after coming from my LM1's. I had a mac catback (about the same as flowstoppers) that I got and threw it on to see how it would sound before I sold it and the volume was about the same as my LM2's before I modded them.
I loved the sound of my LM1's but they were a little too loud for me.
Heres my MRT catted h with LM1's from last summer.

ok well what would be the differnce coming from stock h with flowmasters in them?? like is it worth slapping another 250 bucks for new mufflers? lets say flowmaster mufflers were like a 6 out of 10 loudness, what would LM2s b. maybe someone who did the swap already could tell me if its worth it or someone whos heard both with stock h pipes and could tell me
thanks a bunch this stuff is rele helping
