Default Odometer issues going out

I have a 99 GT, over the last 10 months or so it's start to go out. A few beats on the dash it's good. Here lately it's on it's last leg. Does anyone know a solution?

my 00 gt does it too. i work at a shop and at MY price (a helluva discount) and my install time, it would cost ~200. you have to get a new cluster and transfer the odometer chip from yours to the new one. i havent done it but from what the other techs say, it sucks lol

I do them at work alot on f150's. Its rather easy but i use are ford scan tool which removes the info from the old unit and reloads it on the new cluster. The whole process takes less then an hour.
