Default Tranny question

Hey guys,

I have an 00 GT with a t45. There is a squeeling sound which goes away when I engage the clutch. I think it may be the throwout bearring. As well I notice how that going into some of the gears such as 2nd and 3rd is getting more difficult (like it is grinding a bit). Also on a few occasions when I am at a very slow speed turning into a driveway or parking spot sometimes i heat like a knocking sound (does not happen often). Is my tranny going? Do I need to get a new one or can I get it rebuilt? What cost am I looking at?

Any advice would help....thanks

The squealing sounds is indeed the TOB. As for it being hard to shift into 2nd and 3rd, that sounds like synchronizes to me. The slow speed knocking sounds like you have a bad ball joint or tie rod. As for rebuilt or new tranny you can do both. I was looking to get mine rebuild and have 2 new gears put in and everyone was telling me about $1000. I ended up finding a new one on e-bay for $850.
