Oil pressure gauge jumping!?!

Default Oil pressure gauge jumping!?!

while im riding around today, i noticed my oil pressure gauge jumping spiraticly (<---spell check). it dosnt do it all the time but will happen at leas a few times in like 20 minutes esp at idle. could my oil pump be going out? this is exactly what i need......i think im going to have to shoot myself.

Does anything work on that car? Go get a cheap mech oil pressure gauge ($10 at autozone) and hook it up and see if your pressure is good. The stock gauge is just a dummy gauge it doesnt measure oil pressure just lets you know there is enough to be safe.

It might be the oil sending unit going bad its nit that bad to replace.

no **** right?+1 to going and getting a gauge u need to figure out whats wrong post haste when it comes to oil pressure

im starting to wonder if anything is going to work on this hunk of scrap. it was a very nice ride when i bought it, bone stock, older women owned its whole life. then i let it sit for about 9 months and let that mechanic put his hands on it and damn everything is falling apart, as far as the engine.
