I noticed the kits don't come with a seleoind...do you have to install one yourself or is it required?

from what i understand there are different types of bulbs, for instance H4. theres H4, H4-2, H4-3. H4 is the single beam. H4-2 is a dual beam, the low beam is HID the high beam is a halogen bulb mounted right next to the HID capsule. then theres H4-3 which is also a dual beam but both the low and high beams are from one HID capsule that goes back and forth telescopically. ... then theres true BiXenon which a single bulb actually has two HID capsules mounted next to each other one for low and one for high (those obviously require a total of 4 balasts... and not worth it to me, you would have to wait for the highs to warm up when you turn them on) not good if you were needing to flash someone.

so where ever you order from just ask them what type the dual beam/aka bixenons are. the telescopic ones have the solenoid built into them. pretty sure most places that sell our 9007 bulbs have the telescopic ones.

the single beams will not have a solenoid at all. it would just be a rigid HID capsule, just giving you low beams. the solenoid is built into the the dual beam/bixenon bulbs, its what creates the telescopic action allowing you to retain both your low and high beams.

so if you want just the single beam version (because im assuming you never use your high beams) then no it will not have the solenoid in the bulb, theres no need for it.

I am actually seriously considering this, but I am concerned with the bumps because of my road race suspension setup. So does anywhere can I get a kit without a the telescopic bulbs? Or does everyone think that wont be an issue?

Is that what you are running? Those ballasts just look really small.

So the set you linked are the exact ones you got? I'm intersted in getting a pair.
