guys talking about install.... its over a grand to do a headgasket at some places.... if he is wanting h/c/i install then his 5grand budget just went to ****.... stage 3 stuff is way out of the question.... he could afford heads/cam/pi intake and install for 5 grand most likely...but adding wheels and gears and tuning and all the suspension stuff etc etc...you guys are blowing his budget way outta the water...i say find used PI h/c/i learn to do that install yourself, then buy a blower and have it installed/tuned

actually...best way to spend 5grand and be faster

sell stang, take 5 grand plus money from stang, buy 98-2002 camaro z28/ss, or firebird formula/ws6 trans am

the power will be incredibly more than what you have now, and easy mods after that net big numbers...i got a buddy with a cammed bolt on trans am making close to 400rwhp...

do it!

Never mind, I thought it was a new edge. You can sell a low miles new edge and with that + 5k you can come close to buying a termi. I saw one for 16.5k the other day.

I guess I'll be the first to admit I'm not the greatest at guessing shop rates. Personally I'm kinda like 72MachOne99GT, I knew nothing about cars and I just jumped into it. Get a few buddies and a case of beer and get at it. It really isn't that difficult.

Oh and if you want to look the s/c route. I picked up my used S trim for $1900 which included everything but the fuel pump. So good deals are out there.

I vote Stage 2 heads and maybe stage 1 cams with a good lift and duration. If you can do labor then that and a tune should take most of your money and you'll have a fairly fast car! also..maybe get a PI intake manifold from a junker car or something if you have enough cash..or 4.10 gears

damn yea thats what i meant sorry for the confusion...a gain of 300 rwhp on top of the motor is impossible with npi heads...ive never seen a supercharger that can add 300 hp unless its crazy levels of boost
