Default Storage hint/ tips

I bought a good car cover from American Muscle so thats covered...so to speak. I'll be storing the car in a friends barn so what are some hints/tips on keeping the car safe. The friend does have cats that will most likely be on the car...not happy but don't have another place to store it.

Moth *****
Stabil..for the gas

What else?

Change your oil & filter, fuel stab., pump the tires to the max. pressure, put a GOOD coat of wax and leave on window open a "Pinch" (air flow)...maybe even put boards under the tires...

Keep the E-brake off - I've seen lines freeze up over the winter in storage of the type!

Is it a bad idea to take the wheels/tires off and put the car on 4 jackstands for that long? This is the first year I'm storing my car and thought about doing this just to make sure I dont get flat spots on my tires, plus it would be convenient to get under and tinker with when I'm bored.

i stored my car for 4 months while i was at basic and job school. i waxed it and put some old soft sheets on the car then the car cover. i made sure the tire pressure was good, changed oil and checked fluids. put rags in the exhaust and disconnected the battery. thats it and it was fine. it was kept in a airplane hanger that was basically a sheet metal structure with asphalt.

I put dryer sheets in the car(supposed to keep critters away), Fill the gas tank all the way up, I park on a plastic mat to create a barrier between the cement and the underneath of the car (prevents condensation)
By a product called Damp Rid and hang one on the inside the car to prevent any condensation in the car(yucky smells)

Dont use moth *****! They smell horrible and its hard to get rid of that smell. I had a mouse get in my car in my parents garage last winter and chew a lil hole in the rear seat. If I were you I would set a couple traps in your car.

This is what I did last winter and it worked fine, the car was stored outside in a carport btw.
- Put Stabil in gas tank and fill
- Disconnect battery
- dryer sheets under hood, trunk, and interior
- Damp-Rid or other moisture absorber in interior
- Put rags in exhaust tips
- Clean interior and exterior
- Change Oil and Filter
- Inflate tires to about 40 psi
- Cover vehicle
