Comp Vs VT vs Hitech Cams
When I talked to Hitech a few weeks ago. The guy told me that although they don't make the Peak power that some of the other brands do then do increase the hp/tq curve which leads to better race numbers.
I really wish I would have asked for a copy of that dyno sheet. It was really impressive how the entire power band was my fatter then with the comp cams. Seriously at no point were the Hi-tech cams less then 18-20rwhp over the comps.
I'm running custom ground cams from Comp, and well, you know my power numbers and times.
Honestly hoss, from everyone I've heard from, you should look into a custom grind and actually talk to them and tell them what your plans are and what you use the car for.
An aggressive strip set up is going to perform vastly different on a road course or an auto-x course, so I would definitely tell them that you do enjoy auto-x, and they should be able to figure up a grind that would be perfect for you.
If stage II hi-tech's really do show that much of an increase over the RPM range, I would see if they can do a custom grind for you, then again, 20hp might be enough to just buy off the shelf from them

that's pretty damn good numbers for just basic bolt on's and such, as someone said above, I really suggest upgraded valvesprings, I need to get a better set as it is because I'm getting slight valve float at 6800-6900RPM
