Default Chip Tune

How much horsepower and torque would i gain with a SCT 4 bank eliminator chip? I was looking at one and was curious what the approximate gains are.

Not big gains on a stock car or one with few mods. Get a good tuner instead, especially if you are going to add more bolt ons later(gears,o/r midpipe, etc.)

don't worry about a chip until you've done something like a bigger TB, o/r x-pipe, and or intake set up, you won't see much otherwise. Instead, advance your timing and run premium. You'll be happy with that until you are able to strap on more mods.

Why do you want to switch from your Sniper to SCT?

Handheld is the best way to do it short of a professional dyno tune.

Chip based systems cannot do anything that a flash-based system cannot, the only difference is that you can more readily switch between tunes. Delta Force has an 8-bank system into which you could load the Special Forces tunes...

Was it a 91 or 93 octane tune?

The OEM 87 octane tune is very conservative--any even remotely compentent custom tune should have gained 5-7HP peak, with as much as 12-15HP in the mid-range (2500 tom 4500 rpm or so)...

Ive been trying to tell him this in another thread but just wont listen. lol Cliffy knows what he is talking about when it comes to tuning...and pretty much anything else mustang and/or engineering related. I listen to everything this man has to say because its correct information.
