Quiet Muffler?
#21
I don't have the stock cat-back, I was hoping I could just buy the mufflers online. All of the mufflers listed I can literally just unbolt mine and bolt theirs up, so I was hoping that I could just bolt up the stock mufflers if I could find them.

these are expensive but look at the dual mode mufflers. they are quiet for normal driving and then get loud when you open er up. i dont know if you were looking for quiet the whole time or quiet just for normal driving.

how quiet are we talking about? I want to be able to start my car up at like 2am and not wake up my sisters or anything. I'm trying to get the car as driveable as possible, the most power without any sacrafice in daily driveability, sound, or anything really. I want it to drive like stock, better than stock.
Alrighty, so the Pro Flows are $214 for a pair, and I'll be going dumped.
The Magnaflow mufflers (I could only find general Magnaflow) are $150 for a pair
Bassani's are $200 for a pair before tax and shipping.
borlas are $208 for a pair
Super Turbo mufflers from Hooker are $92 for a pair, and claim to be silent at idle
so, what's going to be the best value, most flowing, while still maintaining near silent opperation?

well, I don't really care for loud, at any point in the RPM range, or at any throttle position, So quiet is better in my honest opinion than loud.
Loud cars attract a ton of attention. Once I change mufflers (I'm thinking of going with the Hookers, as they allow the most HP and are the quietest), since the exhaust is dumped just before the IRS, I'm most likely going to get myself a v6 bumper, coupled with the fact that my side badges are shaved, I'll get rid of the 4.6 Emblem and go with a black Ford Emblem, and it will be quite a sleeper.
I mean, how many times do you see a ~600rwhp car rolling around that you can't hear before you see it?
As I've said before, I want the car to be silent enough and docile enough for someone as squirmish (can't think of a better right now) as my mother to actually be okay with driving the car around town.
I've put more sound deadening material in the car than their was before, so inside the cab, it's quieter than you can imagine, but I want it to be quiet from outside the car as well.
