how do i reduce drivetrain loss

well you could also put on an engine "torque arm" - i know there is a name for it, but I forgot, however they do make quite a difference

i believe you mean an engine torque damper. its not recommended on a rear-wheel drive vehicle. the idea of an engine torque damper is that it will use a shock mounted to motor and to the strut tower to limit the motors movement. it does its job VERY well, however it transmits the rotational force of the engine, that would be normally transmited through the motors mount and throughout the car, through the transmission. on a rear-wheel drive vehicle the stress is enormous on the input and output shafts.

i've seen several miata and s2000 owners break theirs over time and beating. with that said, i've seen MANY civic and tC owners use them without any negative effects. i speculate that this is because of the front-wheel drive layout and how the engine and transmission twist together and are mounted together on the same axle. therefore the engine torque damper would effectively limit the movement of both.

ok when you guys say a smaller torque converter you mean the physical size or something else
