I'm assuming that your car will be a daily driver. I haven't been to South Carolina, but I suspect the winters there are fairly mild. Nitto 555s are a summer tire. You do not want to be caught in light snow or ice with them.

as far as that goes you do not want to be caught in light snow or ice with a mustang at all regardless of the tires.

Not necessarily true. My car is a daily driver all year long. I've driven it through both snow and ice. The latest ice storm was last week. I've seen cars spin 180s in front of me and the Mustang handled OK. It drives no worse than a rear wheel drive pick up truck. I had Kuhmo ultra-high performance summer tires on it the first winter and fully understand the bad reputation Mustangs have on snow and ice. I almost got stuck on a half inch of snow in a parking lot. Since I put the all season tires on it I've had no more problems than any other car. While it won't drive as good as a front wheel drive car, in my opinion, it is mostly the tires that give the Mustang such a bad reputation.

It is a daily driver and we havn't had snow here in my part of south carolina for about 8 years lol, or ice, and when it does it lasts for about two hours before it warms up and melts lol, its usually around 45-50 in the winter so no snow and if for some freak reason it does snow, everything is closed lol, we get 1/2 inch of snow and everythings closed for the day
