Plugged in my SCT X-cal 3 yesterday to read the check engine codes and its telling me that I have two bad knock sensors. To be honest, I am not familiar with knock sensors at all. What can be causing this issue and what, other than gas mileage and air/fuel ratio, can it affect. Where are they located so that I can replace them and get my baby running properly again? Thanks for any help or answers!

 

Well the problem is you don't have knock sensors.

 

Yep,only four valve engines have knock sensors.
I'd say SCT sent the wrong program in your tuner.Give 'em a call.

 

Thanks guys!! Called SCT and figured out exactly as you guys said. Program was for an 03-04 Cobra. I was wondering about that whole knock sensor thing. I put my whole engine together and didnt remember anything about knock sensors. Thanks guys, appreciate the assistance.
