Default Am I missing something?

Is it me or does the 03/04 cobra blower suck?

Why would anyone want to spend 3k to get a Heaton on thier 99-04 gt?

I'm no expert by any means but I wouldn't say the blowers suck. I'd say that in general, the stock parts from any Mustang can all be improved upon, and aren't meant to be the best possible pieces. They're meant to be efficiently and cost-effectively produced in order to reduce costs and make the vehicles cheaper to produce and sell. That being said, i'd say that the 03/04 blowers are great for a stock vehicle, but shouldn't be expected to stand up to aftermarket pieces that sell for a lot more.

plus 1. u can find a heaton for 300 bucks.. but you still need everything else manifold, hoses, belts, ect ect. cost the same as just buying a supercharger..

the blowers dont suck at all they have stood the test of time and cobra guys are making great power with it being a factory blower and all having to be reliable. Now they might not be the best cost effective setup for a 2v , but it would still be cheaper than having to buy a kb and or saleen, but of course you would rather go aftermarket if your plans for your car is to make a **** load of power than you would be better off going aftermarket. Im pretty sure svt will chime in here.

Chime...

The Eaton serves its purpose, but yes i think it costs too much to try and put onto a 2v.
Ive heard of alot of people making custom manifolds (themselves) to bolt them on to just about anything from boats to roadsters when hood clearance is not a problem.
But other then that i have no idea why those things actually sell on ebay.
For 3k, you'll be done with your setup and max out at 13psi (10 @ WOT) unless its ported... then add $700 on top of the 3k.
So why wouldnt you just get a paxton or vortech to begin with where there really is no limit (except your wallet) later on down the road when you wanna increase the boost to something ungodly.

And then at least you wouldnt have a fobra... haha

It cost to much to put it on a mach 1 to, not only 2vs, But They are pretty damn good i think. Get it ported and polished and put out over 500 hp? Thats pretty good. How much higher could you wanna go?

When i buy a blower im getting the torktech kit(which uses an eaton) for 2 reasons:

1.Its under 4k for an intercooled blower that will easily max the block out
2. I get to hear that blower whine!

I dont try to be speed racer in my vert, so i dont need more than 400 hp, this blower is perfectly suited for that. AND I dont like the way the power comes on on a centrifugal supercharger. Its boring...

why wait till 3k.. you only have untill 6k to shift, unless u have cams. Ill take a blower that uses the entire rpm range to its advantage. I was an advocate of centris untill i actually rode in a car with one. The dont even make full boost untill high in the rpms. Its ony thing if you motors built and can spin at high rpms...but for a stock bottom end a roots/twin screw is better for my personal likes.
