Default New track times

Went to the track with some buddies the other weekend. This was only my 2nd time being out. I don't think the times are too bad for having only a midpipe and weld in mufflers and stock shifter. I couldn't hook up in 1st gear AT ALL no matter how I controlled the throttle, but it wasn't due to track prep but to my tires being just about bald.

My best run was a 14.095 at 99.60 mph with a ****ty 2.256 short time. I couldn't hook up real well after the track started getting used. My best 60' was a 2.197 which was one WITH TRACTION CONTROL ON! My fastest pass was 14.282 at 100.32.

I just bought some new tires for the rears so we'll see how they do this weekend and I'll be taking the front sway bar off this time too for better weight transfer. Im gonna get this damned 13.8 with an almost 100% stock car.

Altitude is only like 900 feet and the weather was PERFECT. 63 degrees F, Pressure was at 30.40, and humidity was at 51%. This coming weekend looking to be just abotu the exact same.

Spinning sucks. Last time I went to the track I ran a 14.0 with a 2.7 60' then just parked my car and watched.

Yeah I had one of those runs. I had a 2.6X short time and stil lamanged a 14.4 or maybe 14.3. My shifting is spot on and I'm not gonna push the stock shifter any harder. I'll sacrifice a tenth for a $700 transmission rebuild.

The best ET slip was on a hot lap too which surprised the hell out of me. Guess my car likes to run while warm a tad bit better.

The slip is in the car. If I recall, it was only like a 9.3 or 9.4. Dunno why. I figured a 14.0 would bring a 9.0 with it, but I dunno.

Well 3rd gear tops out at 103 mph. I shift into 4th and still floor it for a second. Remember I have the stock 3.27's, and I was running 245.45.17 BFGoodrich G Force Sports.

2.2 isn't a good sixty foot to me because I know I can do better. The car was spinning off the line and I know I can pull a 2.0X out of it.

Those are some good numbers. I do about the same in my car with just a catback. My best (and only) pass to date was a 14.2 at 98 MPH, although i think i could do better

shes got alot more in it, you have to learn to drive it off the line better... slip the clutch. But all in all good times considering.

I looked at the slips and my 1/8th on the 14.09 pass was a 9.18.
