Default Need some input...

My DD Buick needs a lot of work to pass inspection.

I was going to look at a Miata as a DD/Auto X car but I don't think that I can get a loan on it while I have the other cars.

I basically have 3 choices.

1. Daily drive the my Mach when Spring starts and save up for a replacement DD by next winter.

2. Spend the money on the Buick and just do what I do now.

3. Get an all year round vehicle to replace the Mach...

It isn't that I can't drive the Mach year round or in rain but I don't want feel like ruining a mint condition vehicle.

I really love Miata's for a million reasons, which I wont even get started on, and I'm sure Cliffy K is going to come in and say something similar.

But I'd hate to see you have to part with your Mach 1 so I'd say choice 1.

what is wrong with it buick?? is it still running and good or it really really needs a lot of work??

i would just go to a local station and have them inspect it for me for $100 or w/e it is.. unless the thing needs a LOTTT of work..

i say keep the mach and save up for another beater... its almost warm/nice weather and soon you will be able to drive the mach!! rain never killed anybody. just wash it off the next day

It needs about $1400 worth of work. The engine itself runs top notch. Just money I don't really have.

I would just put that $1,400 and whatever you can get for the buick toward a miata or something similar. This way you can save some coin on gas and insurance will be cheaper with that listed as the DD.

i agree with tws1098. any hey jmac did you ever end up getting that supercharger that was on the mass craigslist. I saw you posted a ques asking if you should buy it or not. I emailed that guy like 10 times with no response then he put the thing on ebay and it sold last night. Just curious if it was you that ended up with it. or if something was wrong with it? seemed like to good of a deal to be true to me.

Small, nimble and highly moddable. Would be a fun dd and would be fun at auto x.

there not bad little cars. A buddy of mines friend had 4 miatas. He used to hook them up and they were decently fast for a miata. Deff potential there. I always thought the miata was a interesting little 2 seater same thing with the pontiac fiero.
