Default My Hitech stage 2 cam review

Well let me start off by saying these cams are AMAZING! The car pulls hard through every single gear. I also want to thank the reps at Hitech for their fantasic customer service. Anyway, to the details....when i had these installed i did JUST the cam, no valve springs and no degreeing, i did this because one of the reps at Hitech told me these cams did not require either of those. So i went out on a limb and tryed it. Now my car has every bolt ons EXCEPT underdrive pullies. So about a week after i get the cams installed i head to PSI Performance Solutions to have the car tuned. We slapped it on the dyno and gave a pull and it threw down 288hp and 289tq. Not to bad for just dropping in some cams and no tuning. After the tuner worked some magic and adjusted the air/fuel ratio and added some spark she finally laid down 294hp and 307tq. Bare in mind i dont have udps and stock unported heads. The tuner told me that with some udps it had a very high chance of laying down 300hp all day long. So over all i am very pleased with the results for literally being a drop in and go cam. I recommend them to anyone looking for a off the shelf cam. Once again here is my full performance upgrades that i believe show up on dyno numbers...

BBK CAI
Professional Products 75mm throttle body
Professional Products 75mm Plenum
BBK Longtube Headers
BBK O/R x pipe
Magnapacks
Hitech Stage 2 cams
Tuned by PSI Performance

Here is a little better idle clip from my previous vid, and also a dyno clip to go also with it

Very nice man! Glad to hear you are so happy with the results. BTW did you install them yourself or have a shop do the install?

congrats man. Even though I have custom cams, I recommend HiTechs to anyone looking for off the shelf cams https://mustangforums.com/forum/4-6l...-battle-3.html

Did the guys at hitech give you a rating on how high you can rev the stock valve springs?

EDIT: also, how high did dean rev it on the dyno?

Yea Rons the man! Hitech didnt give me a rev limit but just made clear that they make the peak power before the redline, Dean took my car to 6k and set the limiter to 6300. If your going to autocross with these cams then i was told by a rep at Hitech that valve springs are required.

I would be careful downshifting then... Dont do a whole lot of roll races. Sounds to me that if you stay high up in the rpms for to long....SNAP lol
