For 350/tire, I expect them to do pretty much everything except wipe my ***, and the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's pretty much did that, AND they last 25-30,000 miles.

Jesus christ, I know you guys are aggressive behind the wheel, but during my daily commute, and weekend driving, I'm NOT.

As Defcon said, the GS-D3's are LESS expensive, and last LONGER, with just as much, if not MORE grip than the BFG's.

THAT is what I expect out of a tire that's as expensive as they are
I mean they are 200 AA... what do you expect. Maybe you should look at the falken azenis.

I personally feel that with Falken Azenis 615, Dunlop Direzza Star Spec, Eagle F1 GSD3 and Proxes R888 are all a better value dollar per dollar for any performance enthusiast.
Excellent

I run the PS2 on my Winter wheels and find them wonderful and far better than the GS-D3's I had prior (I liked my Goodyear Gatorbacks of the late '80s better than both). I have approx. 13K or so on them and probably 25% life left. I drive them really hard on the corners, but never on the track. Other than the R888's, I haven't tried the others mentioned above.

I wish I could be sponsored by a tire testing company to run different tires over varying conditions and such. I would be great to really get to know all the differences between them. I agree on the noise, or lack there of, on the PS2. I put my R888's on a couple weeks back and remarkable how much louder they are on the street. They often sound like a low-flying crop-duster airplane overhead.

I really only drive my car on the weekends and don't have enough consistancy, such as a track, to REALLY compare them in extreme conditions. If I had much track time, I would be able to see the subtle differences between them and would be a blast!

Jazzer... says good to know

Okay, well, go to the tirerack search I posted, and show me a tire that has more than 200 AA in a 335' size for a 17" wheel?

Then you have Nitto Drags, which people can see 12-15k miles out of, With a treadware rating of 100A A.

Maybe I should realize that everything is going to hell when $700 for 2 tires only lasts someone 1 year. That's just disgraceful

They are far quieter than my T/A KD's or the GS-D3's I used to have, and I'm saying that WITH the top down.

They are great tires IMHO. Like I said 1,000,000 times, I'm not driving my car like a race car, or even like a powerful car when it's on the street. I hate people who do that kind of thing.

You give me a 90 year old driver, and I can guarantee I'm a slower driver.

I don't need ultra-sticky, fast wearing tires. I just need something that isn't going to loose traction at 10% throttle at 2,000RPM and will still last at least twenty thousand miles. I honestly don't think that's too much to ask.

If I was a "spirited" (we all know that stands for "*******") driver, it would be understandable. But driving UNDER the speedlimit, and accelerating at no more than 5% throttle and they wear out in a year? that's just pathetic.

Why does it have to be 335? 10.5 you can use a 315 or 325. Im sure your aware of that but why specifically 335?

Boy, you MUST have sandpaper roads down your way I have been to AZ many times and wonder if it has to do with heat and the compound of the roads needed to address it. That is to say, asphault will get soft where I live in 105° heat, so can only imagine what temp it gets in the desert I am sure that the compound of roads needed not to melt-away is likely an issue.

Like you have already found out, it is going to be tough to find a not-so-soft tire running in a 335 size. Most running that size are wanting track performance and budget is just going to have to give. Add the relative lack of market share to that size and you have an expensive and soft tire

I don't run your width of tire, but have just learned to live with the cost of the tires I run, so maybe this will ease your pain a little. I have two sets of tires/wheels for my ride. My Summer tires are 295/30/18" & 315/30/18" R888's and have probably 3K on them. My Winter tires are 275/35/18" & 295/30/18" PS2's and will likely be upping to my Summer sizes in a couple months. I hope to get two seasons, about 8K out of my R888's and will run me nearly $2K to replace them all. Winter tires should get me 4 seasons, not sure yet.

Are your front tires the same make/model and wearing out just as fast? It seems that the rears seem to be the problem with fast wear, maybe I missed something?

Anyway, if you are ONLY wearing out the rears so fast, you are harder on your tires than you realize. If you are pushing 600 HP and just digging a turn hard on the street while accelerating, you may not be drifting, but you are accelerating the wear (pun intended )

I got 18K out of a set of MT DR's, but like you said. I don't think you are in the market for a tire that's only meant to go in one direction *straight* and won't be too forgiving with a 600 hp car in the rain, though I never had any wet traction issues because I drove like a human in the rain, not a moron.

I guess I just don't see how a tire literally wears itself out from daily commuting in anything under 15-20K miles REGARDLESS of the compound.

I have 13inch wide wheels on order, and also a custom irs subframe, and i know very well would need to be done to get these to fit and not stick out a rediculous ammount..
