You make it sound like you've never missed a shift. Because everyone is born a professional and never makes mistakes.

I've missed 3rd at the track 1 time, and missed 2nd once as well. (that was a good one.. LOL)

Powershifting = bad..but if you're gonna drive it hard, drive it hard. Just don't complain if something breaks.

I've NEVER completely powershifted 1-2 or 2-3, I don't have enough confidence in my shifting/foot work.

I've probably got a tenth or a mph or so left in the car between those two shifts, but I'm alright with that.

Ok yeah so I guess to you because I tried powershifting pretty much for the first time and did it good twice and hit the rev limiter other two times that means I suck at driving stick and cannot drive my car therefore you think I am actually gonna take your advice and try to sell my car and get an automatic.

You also said that power shifting was "very easy"...is that your subtle way of trying to show off in a humble way? lol if you think you are a better driver, you probably are LOL. Difference between me and 90% of people here is I am not going to spend my time arguing with you.

your rpms should not rise more than 200 in a power shift, if it does your doing it to slow. What is hard on snycrhos is making them do all the work, rev matching will save your tranny. Its not because its a Ford or the 3650 sucks or anything like that, its because is a stock car, not a race car and when you drive like a dope... you break stuff. Now he could have been less rude, but what he said is true... if you can do it properly it wont hurt anything (besides the normal added wear of hard driving).

You're nuts if you don't think power shifting is hard on a transmission. End of discussion.

so, you hit the rev limiter inbetween shifts, and you have trouble hitting 3rd with a aftermarket short shifter, and somehow that makes you not a ****ty driver?

Shouldn't we say shifting impaired?

Hmm so I guess theres really nothing more to power shifting other than pumping the clutch as fast as you can...

99BlackPonyGT: I don't hit the rev limiter between my upshifts, I just said I tired powershifting pretty much for the first time yesterday and I did fine twice and hit the rev limiter the other 2 times. My problem with 3rd I think may have to do with my synchro (bought the car used). I've had that problem for a while now and have posted numerous threads about it.

I'm not sure what your definition of being a bad driver is. I've only had my license for a little over a year and this is my car which I've had for about 9-10 months now. I'd like to say i've come a long way from when I first started out driving. I didn't know many people who had a stick shift car to teach me and the few who did weren't willing. I just read a lot online, watched many videos, and then finally paid for a few classes to get some hands on practice. As of now I feel I can fluently drive my car and even go to the track once a week banging gears. I also see myself as a responsible and safe driver (no tickets or anything so far). I also don't do anything stupid. So i'd like to say i'm a pretty good driver in terms of that.

If you are talking about being a bad driver as in not being as good as you are, then yeah I guess I am pretty bad lol

never say you dont have tickets...you will end up getting one

and really im just giving you a hard time and talking some ****....ive never been in the car with you, so i have no idea how you drive...powershifting is easy, just lay into it, and then shift without lifting...quicker you get that clutch going the quicker youre gonna go....but it will tear **** up, especially if you already think the tranny has some issues
