Default Shoddy Workmanship

I didn't want to OT Jive's thread, so I figured I'd take this to my own, but I guess I found out that I really probably shouldn't do work myself, I really half-assed the nozzle set up for my meth injection system.

I knew something was weird because my car was bogging a bit, my dad couldn't notice it when he took it out, but then again, 500+hp is not something many people get to drive everyday, like I have the privledge of.

So anyway, I was routing around underhood to see if I couldn't figure out what was going out, because I know the 78* degree weather isn't really hurting the car.

I found that the nozzles were actually barely hanging in there, looks like I stripped the threads in the pipe the last time I cleaned the nozzles.

So I was trying to figure out what to do. I don't really have anything that I can weld aluminum with, otherwise I could have just gotten a small nut or something and welded it right to the outside.

I went to ace and found this little 1/8th inch to 1/4 inch NPT (national pipe thread, it threw me the **** off), got a pipe tap, and went to work.

I sliced a good 1/4" off of the end of this fitting, so that it wouldn't block the atomization of the methanol, but other than that, I really think it turned out alright. I used a bit of JB weld on the outside, just for some added support, which actually created a couple more threads.

I'll have to take a picture for you guys.

I was slightly worried about having the nozzles portruding into the intake tube, I have a feeling they'd make the air charge slightly more turbulent, hell, even heat it up a bit more. Just make the damn thing less efficient. With this little fitting, I'm able to have the actual spray pattern almost completely perfect, which is awesome.

Oh, and this is only a temporary fix. I ordered a new Treadstone Front mount A2A intercooler (not bad for ~400 bucks) and I'm probably going to be shotting Oxford an order for one of those bumper mounts if he still does them, sometime soon.

I just will use this for the time being.

You should have just gotten a rubber grommet that fit the pre existing hole/nozzle size. kinda like what the IAT sensor sits in. cheap, stable and easy. That would have been a lot less work, for a temp fix n e ways.

I have my IAT screwed in, not in a grommet. I dont know whether not a ruber grommet would hold up to 16PSI

I'm still kind of waiting for the intake manifold to blow

yeah, but this way I know for a fact that they aren't going to leak or anything. Either way, I've already got them in there and done.

The part I was more concerned about was it portruding into the pipe too far, and this way it's just on the outside.

that rubber grommet would hold, but like you I dont trust them. I wouldnt worry about the nozzle in the tube, it wont make any difference. The treadstone units are super high quality, the best performance per dollar intercooler around imo.

Procharger wanted 900? or Treadstone? I got my 3 core for 400 before shipping.
