bad o2 sensor

Default bad o2 sensor

my friend and i hooked up his programer thinger to my car or whatever it is that reads the coads and its saying that i have a bad o2 sensor. should i not drive the car till i replace it and should i not spray it till i replace it?

you can drive it's not a big deal just buy a new sensor and put it in. If it's the rear o2 sensor you can drive and use nitrous I guess. If it's a front sensor I would change it asap because I think the front sensors report to the ECM for AFR changes.

I would just wait until you fix the problem before you spray. Why risk it?

If your running a wet kit I say spray. A bad upstream o2 sensor makes the car run rich anyway.

What was the exact code or codes?

There are 4 O2 sensors, 2 in front of the cats that are used to adjust AFR in closed loop mode, and 2 downstream of the cats used to monitor the converters' efficiency. The code will reveal which of these is malfunctioning.

Also, many O2 sensor related codes are the result of a functioning sensor reporting some other problem--don't just start changing sensors becaused it mentions "O2 sensor" in the code description.

Once you get the codes you can look them up here to see possible causes and diagnostic tips...

ill second that... im having the same problem.. can a front o2 be switched with a rear o2? if so, that might help you trouble shoot...
