Default My engine build

So I figured I'd start a thread about my engine build and get some opinions/comments

I already have my forged DSS 18cc dish pistons and forged rods. I bought another stock dampner and a new flywheel which are here already. My 2001 cobra crank should be on its way and I have a deal in the works for a teksid block out of a mark viii. I'm not sure if I am going to have money to do cams right away or not but when I do it will be CMS 2.5 blower cams for sure. I'm not sure if I should order all the bearings and rings myself or just let the shop take care of it so I don't order the wrong things. Let the discussing commence!

If they are going to warranty their work then let them use their parts.

so I just bought the block and it should be here early next week. What have you guys paid for motor work? I got quoted $1100 for them boring and honing the block, cleaning the block, balancing the rotating assembly, and assembling the shortblock. I think thats pretty high. Does anyone know of a good machine shop in south eastern PA

Ok will do. I forgot about flyfutting the pistons. From what I remember, its not necessary but might as well be done. That allow for a higher lift cam or something right?

will allow for a higher lift cam and a piece of mind that you'll never have ptv contact as long as the cams are in time. 1100 is a little high but then again i wouldn't trust any of the machine shops around here with an aluminum teksid block.

http://lmengines.com/ is the shop. They appear to specialize in fords/modular motor so I know it would be in good hands.
