Default (02mustang)Want to put in a Typhoon Intake Manifold. Is it worth it?

hey wutsup, just need some advice. I want to put in a Typhoon Intake Manifold in my 02 gt automatic, http://www.americanmuscle.com/typhoo...904-satin.html

Do you guys think it's worth spending the money? How many ponies are we talkin? I know if I put this intake in with some Stage II Cams, I would be gaining at least 30whp.

Short answer. No.

Do some research, you will lose power, and only gain on 6k+ rpm. Useless unless you have cams and/or ported heads. Stick with the stock intake manifold, and spend that money on getting cams or something else.

Are you trying to set a record for the most amount of threads on page 1?

Do some searching man, there is a search button in the blue bar towards the top of this page. Every thread that you have started has been covered at least 10 times already this year.

BTW the Typhoon is not worth it as I stated in the other thread.

If you plan on staying n/a it is not worth it, but if you have to have one you should go with the bullit intake or trickflow.

I was talking to my tuner and he mentioned that they did some dyno runs on this intake and the P-51 and loss power on both of them....

Well supposedly they will give you a slight high rpm gain but loose power over the rest of the rpm band.

And to better answer your question... good advertising on the companies part?

LOL. And they are so freaking expensive as well...plus a stock 2v wont be able to spin too high anyways.

Well that's kinda the point... if you have a full built car with huge cams that you're spinning to 7k then it might be worth it... but otherwise I'd probably skip it. Or I guess if you're worried about manifold pressure with the plastic piece. I've seen people change for that reason too.

Personally, if I was to get anything, I would get the Trick flow or the bullitt.
