if you are going to bargin the price, make sure you know that the dealer knows what you are doing. Set a line at say 9,000 and in your mind say you wont pay a penny more.

Trust me, with the economy the way it is right now, he will GIVE the car to you. Stay firm, don't let him walk over you with the price. Start low, go for your "fair" deal. I wouldn't pay more then 9 though. Any more and walk away. If he wants it sold bad enough he will stop you, trust me.

*edit*

btw, that shift **** is a pretty fair warning to say that whoever owned the car before you drove the **** outta it. I dont care how good they cleaned the car up (and engine bay up) afterward. They are paid to make old cars look new, no matter how bad they were before, its there JOB. haha

Well as I mentioned earlier in the thread (I think ) the car was sold just hours after I test drove it on that saturday.

I started looking into some more GT's but can't find one that is just right for me. So I started looking into Mach 1's. Lot of good ones out there right now

I started a thread in the Mach 1 section asking for opinions. You guys should too

It has 03-04 Cobra wheels. Mach one chin spoiler and grill delete. Bullit pedals and K&N CAI. Only problem was that it has a shattered driver side mirror. It has 80,xxx miles on it and the paint and interior look fine. They are asking 9,900 for it. Sound right??

Thanks guys
I just got my 2000 GT with 87k on it for $7000 from a dealer. It was completely stock except for coil springs, shocks, struts, and caster/camber plates which lowered it a bit. I looked at several GT's and this one was by far in the best shape. It can be hard to find one that has been well taken care of. It has some minor nicks on the front bumper from highway driving, but otherwise looks literally brand new.

It's worth paying a little extra for a well maintained car, though I would still talk down the price. Good luck.

Edit: I just saw that the care was sold, hopefully the right deal will come in time.
