Default Popped Dragstrip Cherry

I finally got out there during a private rental and had a blast! I think I'm hooked! I got 19 runs in before I was out of gas. How did I do for what little mods, etc. that I have? I didn't get a vid of my best time but I did get my second best which was 13.78.

Here are some vids and a pic of my timeslip (I'm the Grey New Edge GT):

Get a sticky tire and you should be running way faster than that...

Nice runs! Put some stickies on her and you will knock down your 60 ft and be in the mid 13s.

I definitely will have better tires next time. Those Sumitomos don't hook for ****. I tried dropping the pressure down to 15psi and smoking the tires for a few seconds and it didn't really help. Thanks for the input!

If you plan on going to the track often and you have the funds I would build up rearend if you go with stickies.

good runs! yea sticky tires should put you in low-mid 13's if you can drive. i dont think the C springs help the weight transfer much either

yea heating street tires wont do anything for your times, you'll probably end up going slower

Thanks for the advice!!! I'll prolly go a couple more times this year. Not a weekly or monthly thing (too expensive!). I think I will definitely get some better tires and maybe some control arms before the next outing!

If you cut a 1.9XX on sumitomos, obviously something was hooking up, and extremely well to boot. I'd say with a drag radial you're only going to cut another tenth off of that, maybe one and a half tops.

Lowering street tires to 15psi? Brave man. Foolish, but brave.
