moding for a gt
ok guys i have been a member for awhile i used to own a 99 cobra but was stolen and driven into the lake (so eff'd up) but insurance came back and i bought a 01 gt, now i know what i want to do to this car but would like some input, i plan on getting a built motor from mmr but dont know if i should spend the extra money and get there cobra longblock and just go with the 2v longblocks i already have the t-56 tranny installed and all the suspension parts, i do plan on getting a hellion turbo as well.

Damn dude, sounds like you got a good plan already w/o any help! You've got the tranny and suspension to handle the ride so I'd get the cobra longblock. Though the 2v block would leave $ for that hellion. Gears, axles and good clutch if ya haven't yet. Good luck man.

im from waterloo, thats wat i was thinking bout just getting the 4v but should i leave it the way they build them or add some beter parts like a blower cam and better heads that really the only thong im hesitating on cuz 03/04 motors are badass straight outta the factory u know

I wouldnt be able to come back to the 2v after owning a 4v. Thats why i refrain myself from test driving any 4vs because im just going to be dissapointed when i get back in my car . Not that 2v's are crap but stock vs stock its not even a comparison.

Im stilling missing injectors, intake discharge ,hand held tuner, and the money for a dynotune. Im frustrated as hell because ive had the head unit for quite some time and due to the economic recession i havnt been doing so good in the insurance business. and on top of that paying for school. Ive just been trying to gather parts here and there and avoid just saying F* it and scrap the whole thing altogether.Slowly but surely it will get done.

Right down the road then, Im in Cedar falls for now.
I would say go with the 4v and build from there if you can afford it. If you're thinking of going 4v now and end up not, then you'll probably regret it sometime down the road.
