Option A, install it yourself, and save some dough.

If not A, then C...if not C, then save for a blower!

I really don't want to go F/I because of my fears about mileage on my engine. I don't want to blow it up in 5k. It is rather hard to find a good condition, used vortech head unit. I wanted to stay N/A but I understand that for only a few hundred more I can get a blower. With all supporting mods and tune and install the supercharger becomes considerably more expensive though. Suggestions on where to find head units. I know corral.net and ebay but they aren't easy to find. As for the question, I like the cams idea but I definitely want to be able to get all hp to the ground thus the rear end build. Thanks for the responses.

i say go with the cams.....so what it wont be as fast as a supercharger or a mustang with nitrous, the sound of a cammed mustang is worth it. i have vt stage 1 n/a cams and i love the sound of them.

i would say A. cams would make the wake up and sound better, but if not A. then B. as this would improve handling.

Thanks guys all you did was make me even more confused about what I want to do, kidding. I will go ahead and wait on the deals and continue to look for a used vortech head unit cause I know the support hardware can be found on superchargersonline for cheap. I just don't want to spend my money ignorantly and buy something that will get me nowhere near my goals. What would you say is the general consensus on running a blower at say 8psi on a high mileage engine? As long as I keep it up I should be ok? Not looking at going any higher than say 380 hp. Also will sniper be able to get a good tune for a supercharger with gears and longtubes? Just trying to avoid $100/hr from a tune place. Thanks again.

i ran my blower for about a year and a half at 11-12psi with aboslutely no problems. ive also known people running them for longer perioids of time with absolutely no problems. let me just say regardless of which blower you go with whether at 6 or 20 psi, ITS ALL IN THE TUNE. spend the extra little bit of money and do it right.

oh if your going to run the 8# pulley then get a powerpipe to make the extra 2# to get you to 10#. with a full exhaust, 10psi on the blower 380 should be no problem whatsoever.

but i will say it one more time, make sure you spend the extra money and get a good quality dyno tune to keep from having problems

I will definitely be getting a good tune to make sure everything runs correctly. Besides the kit, I would need injectors, focus fuel pump, a new maf, and since I already have the gears everything else should be ok right? Is buying everything separate the best way to go? Hardware, head unit, injectors, fuel pump, etc.? Seems like they really stick it to you if you buy the pre-packaged kits.

I was going to do Cams, but I decided to build the rear, along with adding some parts to the suspension to make it hook better. I plan on going cams and springs next.

naa not really

the biggest thing with buying used stuff is it takes time to find all the good deals. just take your time
